🌞 Summer Club Week 2: Sunshine, Shows & Sea Creatures! 🎉

Week 2 of Summer Club was full of laughter, learning, and lots of lovely moments — from birthdays and beach trips to art days and animal encounters!

🎂 Monday – Rachael’s Birthday!

We started the week with a special celebration for Rachael’s birthday. The morning was spent enjoying the sunshine at the beach, where we watched a classic Punch and Judy show — full of giggles and fun! After lunch, the children pulled together a surprise performance in the sensory room. With singing, dancing, and plenty of cheering, Rachael’s show was the perfect birthday treat!

🚌 Tuesday – Trip to Hornby Wonder Works

We set off on a 40-minute bus journey packed with mini lessons in Geography, History, Religious Education, and Science. (Take a look at our Facebook page to see some of the brilliant questions Kelly and Rachael had to answer along the way!)At the Wonder Works, the children explored all the fascinating models, raced Scalextric cars, and even built their own. The fun continued with some pretend hairdressing, a cosy showing of Toy Story, and a silly game of “kick the football up the slide!”

🚂 Wednesday – Trains & the Arcade

In the morning, we built a HUGE train track — working together to connect it from one end of the room to the other! Afterward, we walked to the arcade for some exciting 2p machine action and explored the games. A well-earned biscuit break followed, with our cuddly friend Rocky the teddy leopard joining us too!

🎨 Thursday – Rainy Day Arts & Crafts

The weather didn’t stop the fun! We got creative indoors, decorating shiny CDs, making matchstick art, colourful sand art bottles, and even biscuits and stones. In between the crafts, there was time for football and free play — a perfect mix of movement and making!

🐚 Friday – Shell Wall & Fish Shop Adventure

We ended the week with a seaside stroll to the shell wall, where the children spotted shells of all shapes, sizes, and textures — shiny, smooth, bumpy, and rough. From there, we visited the fish shop and saw all kinds of sea creatures, including a puffer fish, an eel, and a very funny-looking long-horned cowfish!

🍕 Finally, we wrapped up the week by making our own wrap pizzas — choosing from ham, pepperoni, and peppers. A delicious and creative end to a brilliant week!

We’ve loved every minute of Week 2 and can’t wait to do it all again next week! 🧡
