🌞 Summer Club – Week 4 (The Grand Finale!) 🌞

Well, here we are – the last week of Summer Club! Four weeks of fun, adventures, glitter, sand, Lego, and… quite a lot of biscuits. The children had a fantastic final week (and the grown-ups might just need a little lie down). Here’s how we wrapped things up in style:

Monday – Chilled Start

We kicked off the week with a relaxed day at nursery, making the most of our favourite toys. Mobilo and Lego were the big winners, with some very creative builds, plus the children invented their own ball pits using soft play blocks and footballs. (Some of the grown-ups were very tempted to join in… for “supervision purposes,” of course.)

Tuesday – Backwards Day at Folkweek

We ventured to the Hobby Horse Club, where it was Backwards Day. There was singing, dancing, and even a performance from Clarence the Dragon – the children sang his song with great enthusiasm. We also met all the hobby horses (and no, they didn’t gallop away). Back at nursery, we cooled off with delicious ice cream sundaes. Yum!

Wednesday – Park Workout & Sand Art

We took a stroll to the park to enjoy the playground and exercise equipment. The children showed off their muscles – the pull-up bar was especially popular. Kelly was spotted “just hanging around,” which is apparently part of her fitness regime. In the afternoon, we channelled our inner artists and created stunning sand art bottles to take home.

Thursday – Beach Bus Adventure

We hopped on an open-top bus to Minnis Bay. Tour guide Kelly tried her best, but apparently her commentary was so soothing it sent two of the children to sleep! At the bay, we had fun in the park (the climbing frame was a huge hit) before tucking into a picnic. After a hot and busy day, some little ones were very sleepy – Rachael even became a comfy pillow for the ride home. The return bus ran late, so mummies and daddies beat us back to nursery for pick-up.

Friday – The Grand Biscuit Finale

A lovely calm end to Summer Club. We got crafty with sparkles, had sensory room fun, made bracelets, and decorated (and ate) biscuits. Actually, we’ve eaten a lot of biscuits over the past four weeks – it’s practically been a food group.

And that’s a wrap! Rachael and Kelly are now putting their feet up, recharging their batteries, and preparing to welcome everyone back in September. Thank you to all the children for bringing so much energy, laughter, and joy – even if the grown-ups might need an extra coffee or two next week!
