Summer Club Adventures – Rain or Shine! ☀️🌧️🌿

First week at our Nursery Summer Club was a little shorter, starting on Tuesday — but we certainly packed a lot in, despite the rainy weather that stayed with us through Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday!

Tuesday began with a walk to Pierremont Park, where we had a lovely surprise bumping into an old nursery friend. Even the drizzle couldn't dampen our excitement as we explored the outdoors. One of the highlights was spotting lots of ladybirds – we counted 40 in total! 🐞 It was a wonderful opportunity to practice our counting and observe nature up close.

Back at nursery, we decorated biscuits – though we suspect a few might have disappeared during the process (they were just too tasty to resist!). 🍪

On Wednesday, we took a trip to the local library, borrowed some lovely books, and stopped off at the park on our way back. The children enjoyed choosing their stories and stretching their legs outdoors.

As the rain poured down on Thursday, we still managed a walk through the high street — even if the heavens opened right above us! Back at nursery, we had lots of indoor fun with frame play, time in the sensory room, and got creative with Lego, building our very own “Bear Hunt” scene inspired by the beloved story.

We wrapped up the week with a train adventure to Ramsgate on Friday. Our destination was Ellington Park, where the children had a fantastic time on the play equipment and exploring the natural world around them. Mud, leaves, worms, and sticks became magical ingredients for potion-making (don't worry – no worms were harmed!). We finished our outing with a picnic lunch before heading back to nursery, tired but happy.

Rain or shine, every day was full of smiles, discovery, and summer fun. We can’t wait for more adventures this

week!
