A happy nursery in the heart of Broadstairs for children from age 2-5 years

Partnership with Parents

Partnership working is very important to us. We work very closely with our families and other professionals so that your child can reach their full potential as individuals.

We understand that a child's close family are the first and most influential person/people in their child's life, and at the nursery we view our role in the care of your child as very much a partnership.

Making The Time

Making time to talk between ourselves ensures a high standard of childcare and we ask that you allow time for this to take place. In addition to daily discussion there are various events throughout the year, such as parent's evenings and social events, which offer a good opportunity to communicate and discuss progress.

We welcome any parental involvement and suggestions. We aim to promote the partnership in a variety of ways, and strongly encourage all parents/carers to become involved.

Our Aims

At nursery we aim to:

  • Make all parents aware of the nursery's policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all parents are informed of their child's progress regularly.
  • Ensure all parents have the opportunity to contribute their own skills, knowledge and interests.
  • Involve parents in shared record keeping about their child.
  • Ensure parents receive regular newsletters.
  • Make known to parents the procedures for complaints.
  • Provide opportunities for parents to learn about the nursery curriculum and about their child's learning process.

Your Child's Keyperson

To support you and your child they will be allocated a member of staff who will spend time getting to know your child and form a special friendship. They will get to know your child well and so in turn they will plan for their learning, monitor their development and progress, using the interests and learning styles of your child.

They will have a 'Learning Journey' folder showing your child’s development through written and photographic observations which will be used, with your help and co-operation, to set appropriate next steps for your child.

The keyperson system enables parents and staff to communicate fully in the sharing of information about your child's development and well-being, thus providing secure, consistent care for your child.

It is a good idea to inform your keyperson of any important or relevant information regarding your child or of any changes that may occur in their life which may have an influence on their development, feelings or general care.

If you need to know anything further about our keyperson system, please do not hesitate to ask.
